Before starting Yoga in DeMun in 2014, I studied English, graphic design, and fine art. I teach Chinese part-time at the Community College for both adults and children, and creating customized artwork to express the beauty and profound meaning of Chinese language. I teach my students and not only to speak Chinese and recognize the shapes and forms of characters, but also to understand their underlying meaning. I enjoy exchanging cultural conversations with people from various backgrounds—each conversation sparks new imagery in my mind for my next piece. I wish my art to invite people pause and view it from the outside in, which is why I use Japanese black fine ink, leaving space to reveal the essence within each Chinese character. All artwork here is printed on museum premium paper by Grafica Fine Art and Custom Framing.
