Tranquility- Tea Ceremony. Meditation and Live Soundscape
cha dao (茶道), a tea ceremony is an intentional time and space in which we gather and enjoy tea primarily in silence, with time for discussion and questions.
It is a quiet place to contemplate and grow ourselves, to detach from modern anxieties and stressors, and to enjoy the company of others. This sincere ceremony is co-created by Christy Lin, and Rachel Elizabeth Maley, the founder of Cha Dao Chicago.
Just as one might use sound or movement as a focus for contemplation, tea facilitates physical awareness, stillness, and community.
Enjoy a meditative community experience, while learning kills and insights that can deepen your own contemplative practice and your appreciation of tea.
Rachel will serve tea and offer an introduction to cha dao, "The Way of Tea", and the values that give rise to tea ceremonies the world offer. Depart with a new appreciation for this powerful tradition Asian culture and tools to deepen your mindfulness in everyday rituals.
